    Assists the AVP of Environmental Services with the daily operations of the department from an administrative perspective. The Administrative Coordinator maintains the efficient operation of the department. Performs numerous secretarial/operational duties utilizing knowledge of office systems and procedures of the Department. Maintains frequent contacts of a routine nature with employees and vendors.


    Manages the daily efforts around record keeping for the hospital’s handling for Environmental Services, Laundry Department and all Departmental Waste Streams (e.g. phone calls, weights, pick-ups, deliveries, etc.) signing manifests/mailing documents. Keeps books on RMW (Regulated Medical Waste), Hazardous Waste, Sharps Away Program, Pathological Waste manifests. Receives certificate of destruction as required on a timely basis according to NYS DEC Regulations. Manages all record keeping efforts for public Safe Syringe Program (New Enrollments/Exchanges), Foreign Objects Found in Soiled Linen. Prepares and graphs reports for the EVS and Laundry Departments at Andrus Pavilion, Park Care and Dobbs Ferry Pavilion. Maintains effective communication with company representatives, office and service staff to ensure efficient operations by addressing inquiries and handling problems. Serves as the liaison between the Director and supervisory staff at Andrus Pavilion, Dobbs Ferry and Park Care Pavilion to guide them in their daily duties as per work order requests, prioritizing requests according to importance/severity of task; and ensures duties are being performed properly and promptly.


    High School diploma or GED required, 1-2 years of college preferred. Minimum three years of secretarial experience. Superior interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation. Proven ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing in a timely and accurate fashion.
    Demonstrated planning and organizing skills with great attention to detail. Solid time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese preferred. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products with the ability to type 45 to 50 words per minute and the capacity to create charts in Excel.
