This position is accountable for the supervision of the staff in Ultrasound and consultation with attending medical staff for the care of the in-house, out-patient, and private ambulatory patients including the coordination of department equipment for appropriate utilization. The end result is to provide optimal and appropriate patient care both medically and technically.
Supervision of staff that cover all 3 sites to ensure adherence to exam protocol, proper instructions in exam techniques, and proper patient assignments. Schedules vacation, personnel days, etc., in order to maintain patient care at the highest level.
Coordinates exams and procedures with other departments to insure proper sequences for maximum patient care.
Institutes new exams and procedures into department protocol improving department capabilities. Monitors and evaluates department activity to determine referral patterns and ways to increase productivity.
Develops and maintains QA program, adheres to ACR.
Performs evaluation competencies and corrective action forms to assure constant dialogue between supervisor and staff regarding job application and techniques.
Follows St. John’s Riverside Hospital attendance policy and performs Kronos timekeeping to ensure staff are in compliance.
Graduate of an approved school for Ultrasound Technology. 4 years experience as a Ultrasound technologist. Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience (preferred). Superior communication skills and the ability to work well with others are essential. Familiarity in Vascular Ultrasound.
