Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Director or designee, performs all phases of transport duties, clerical duties and serves as an aid to the technologist caring for our patients. Expedites transfers of patients to and from floors and cubicles, answering phones, assisting technical staff, moving patients to and from stretchers and wheel chairs, scanning paper work, burning CDs, speaking to physicians and nurses, and other related tasks in order to assist where needed to help with patient flow throughout the radiology department. Demonstrates courtesy, cooperation, and professionalism toward patients, co-workers, supervisors, physicians and all hospital staff. Demonstrates attentiveness toward details. Delivers patients, supplies, paperwork, etc. to and from locations throughout the hospital as the department needs. Performs routine office duties, such as answering phones, documenting information re:patients requests, Meditech or hospital RIS system’s and PAC’s digital x-ray system. Acts as a resource and precepts new staff as required. Transfers patients, calls for patients, scans paperwork, and burns CD’s. Performs other related duties as required,

Qualifications

HS Diploma/GED required. Must possess basic pc skills with good typing ability as well as medical terminology. Knowledge of medical data systems such as Meditech/PAC’s preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to work in a fast-paced patient-focused environment. Must be able to observe and respect patient confidentiality. Bi-lingual preferred (Spanish/English).
