Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Admin. Laboratory Director and the Medical Director, the Specialist, Laboratory and Pathology Information Systems  is responsible for providing on-going support of the LIS and pathology systems and related modules, including system maintenance, functionality, test dictionaries, and interfaces. This individual acts as liaison between the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and all other departments for LIS-related activities.  Gathers, compiles, models and validates quality and utilization data to develop statistical reports.  Responsible for managing multiple projects, as well as meeting time constraints and expectations.

 

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Prior LIS/Pathology experience/training required. Minimum five years related experience in general laboratory operations is required. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required.  Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, physicians and other staff both verbally and in writing.
