Responsibilities

The Social Workers performs a variety of clinical duties in support of the overall operation of the program. Provides appropriate and effective treatment services to clients. Maintains timely and accurate clinical records per SJRH and OASAS standards. Provides productive outreach to agencies and clients. Demonstrates competency to work with clients appropriate to unit/program, i.e. regarding age and special populations. Maintains knowledge of OASAS regulations and new developments in healthcare. Demonstrates the ability to facilitate intake and orientation processes for clients. Prepare accurate, timely reports and/or statistics assigned. Shares knowledge and expertise with treatment team members, particularly regarding family and MICA issues. Demonstrates knowledge of insurance issues, i.e. obtaining and maintaining treatment authorizations for a variety of insurance types. Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited school; LMSW, LCSW or LMHC required. Two years experience as a social worker with a minimum of one year in alcohol and substance abuse treatment, preferred. Qualified Health Professional (NYS licensure as a social worker) required at hiring.
