This position reports to our health equity chairs and will compile, validate, and analyze statistical reports within St. John’s Riverside Hospital (SJRH), Yonkers and Westchester County. Responsible for managing multiple projects within the organization that aim to impact health equity and health outcomes. This position will support health equity goals of the hospital’s Community Service Plan related to Black Maternal and Infant Health. Research Data Manager may assist with projects relating to Health Equity readiness within the various aspects of the hospital.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and distribute ongoing reports.
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases.
• Supports development of Community Service Plan and monitor progress.
• Identify trends and recommend new ways to impact health disparities and health equity in the community.
• Responsible for bi-monthly ‘news flashes’ to community partners, the hospital, and CARES Committee members about activities of the CARES Committee.
• Represent the hospital at community events to promote the Black Maternal Health initiative and support other health equity initiatives throughout the system.
• Provide outreach and limited patient navigation services to Black birthing people who are undecided about delivering at SJRH to remove obstacles and link new mothers (and families) to community resources. Also provide limited patient navigation services to individuals from populations represented within the hospital’s service area that may need additional support to attain positive health outcomes.
• Support efforts to have SJRH maternal health grants and community partners working together with Black Maternal Center to improve birth outcomes.
• Supports the health equity goals of the Hospital’s Community Service Plan and Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) through collection and analysis of data relating to those plans and to other foci of the health equity program.
• Sets up committee meetings; emails members and takes minutes.
• Collaborate with chairs of health equity committee to implement and evaluate improvement strategies.
• Compiles various reports for presentation to senior management.
• Performs other tasks necessary.
Bachelor’s Degree, proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Excellent communication skills.
Candidates must have strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Power BI is a plus.
Candidate representing populations of interest relating to health equity in our service area preferred.
Able to meet deadlines, multi-task, and work within time constraints.
