Responsibilities

The Electroencephalogram Technician functions as a resource person to physicians and their staff, family members and hospital staff. Prepare patients and performs Electroencephalograms (EEG), Electrocardiographs (EKG), Stress & Holter testing.

Prepares patient and performs EEGs and EKGs

Edit and prepare test for reading by a physician

Performs preventive maintenance and reports any malfunctions

Schedules outpatients when required

Acts as a Stress Technician within 6 months of employment  

Responds to CODE 99 when assigned

Will be assigned daily to various appropriate technical and clerical duties as deemed necessary by the Cardiopulmonary Director to ensure efficient patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum HS Diploma or equivalent.

Graduate of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Technology training program (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, CAAHEP) OR graduate of an American Board of Registration of Electroneurodiagnostic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) approved Electroneurodiagnostic (END) training program OR two (2) years of neurodiagnostic technician experience.

American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) registered, or registry eligible.

Current BLS certification. 

Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
