The technologist will have proficiency in the areas of Special Procedures with Radiology and CT and will be required to cover these areas when needed.Knowledge of protocols and application for Radiology and CT Special Procedures.
Positions and transfers patients to and from the X-ray modality. Selects proper technical factors for examinations.Uses proper protocols for all imaging studies.Access IV site and administered the contrast media.Reviews Consent and Medication Reconciliation forms.Performs Medication Management including storage, rotation and temperature requirements.Prepares oral contrast.Uses power injector for administration of contrast. Knowledge of PACS, completing and sending images and the scanning of documents. Reconstructs/ post process images according to protocols. Disposes of biomedical waste using CDC and OSHA guidelines. Clean and maintain equipment to remove body fluids. Supply ordering and management. Maintains daily schedules, log book and required QA. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of assigned rooms. Maintain adequate room supplies/ respiratory and suction tubing. Must follow all Federal, State and hospital health safety codes especially in reference to Radiation, electrical and mechanical safety.

Graduate of an approved school for Radiologic Technology Licensed for New York State in Radiologic technology including permit for injections. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; advanced certification in Cat Scan required. BLS certification is required
