The Inventory Specialist maintains and controls all stock and non-stock supplies/equipment acquisitions and inventory for the serviced Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Designs, standardizes, labels and maintains all supply inventory locations within the service department, including any point of use systems (Pyxis Supply/ Tissue Management),
2. Coordinates all product acquisition (Purchase Requisitions) in conjunction with SJR and Supply Chains policies and best practices. These practices include but are not limited to; obtaining quotes, processing orders, and following through on open orders as needed.
3. Creates and maintains par levels based on strategic planning, usage, and forecasting. Inventories all required locations thoroughly/daily including ordering and restocking of all supplies both stock and nonstock in all supply rooms, storage rooms and POU system locations.
4. Assures equipment in all assigned departments are functioning. Responsible to report any malfunctions and provide solutions for repair when requested.
5. Responsible to maintain an open line of communication with nursing leadership in assigned areas as well as direct managers.
6. Any Overtime performed must be communicated to and authorized by Supply Chain Management
7. Follows St. John’s Riverside Hospital attendance policy.
8. Regular attendance and timeliness are required in your job. This includes the following: (1) being at your work station ready for work by the start of your shift (2) taking only the time allowed for breaks (3) remaining at work during your entire shift, unless excused by a supervisor (4) leaving promptly at the end of your shift, unless you have been given advance permission from your supervisor to work past that point; and (5) calling in and personally notifying your supervisor or another member of management if you are going to be either absent or tardy, unless a verifiable emergency makes it impossible for you to do so.
9. This role will require participation in varying locations within the main facility, and on occasion, coverage of departments outside of the main facility may be necessary. Adjustments to work locations may occur and any changes will be planned by Supply chain management according to the circumstance at that time.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Follow through with assigned duties.
Must recognize potential exposure and need for appropriate precautions.
