Performs supervisory duties within the department, and is responsible for directing departmental activities, technologist staff and ancillary personnel. Assists in supervision and direction on all of the technologists/ clinical and ancillary staff. Manages workflow of the department to ensure the completion of work assignments.Creates schedules of assigned coverage for the different areas of the department.Ensures the deliverance of quality service to the patient.Manages special procedure room.Reviews, updates and writes technical procedures for activities performed in the section.Recommends equipment repairs, supply procurement and equipment modification.Maintains adequate and evenly balanced supply inventory.Recommends action necessary or improvement in overall performance of the department.Works with radiologist to set standards of quality in techniques, procedures, and patient care.Trains staff in overall operation of department and use of equipment.Reviews procedure for accuracy. Establishes policies for new or revised procedures.Contributes to the effective management of the department.Practices actively in departmental and hospital councils, committees, and task forces.Keeps the director informed of any unusual concerns, situation, or conditions relative to staff, patients, and physicians.Maintains records and reports and collects statistics for administration and regulatory purposes.Maintain radiological services in accordance with standards established with department director; federal, state, and local standards, and the JCAHO standards.Makes recommendations for hiring, disciplining, and termination of employees.Follows St. John’s Riverside Hospital attendance policy.
Three years Hospital experience as Radiologic Technologist. Demonstrated proficiency in MS office suite of products. Demonstrated ability to communicate in writing, using advanced writing skills. Strong interpersonal skills..Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology. New York State License in Radiologic Technology . Registered by American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT).
