Responsibilities

Performs duties in the provision of effective meal service to all patients and the support of nutritional care services through diet order processing, menu collection and modification, and general direction of the trayline. Additional duties include completes menu changes prior to meal service, modifies patient tray menus according to diet prescription, diet manual and individualized patterns, assists patients in menu selection, coordinates implementation of the nutritional care plan with clinical nutrition staff and health care team members, directs the operation of the trayline, maintains relevant records for end-of-month financial accounting and performance improvement purposes, demonstrates the ability to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for the patients, families and significant others, staff and visitors of the hospital and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

HS diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of nutrition and hospital procedure required; experience in hospital dietetics is desirable; on-the-job training is provided. Good organizational skills; can perform duties in an independent manner with little direct supervision. Ability to work cooperatively with others, be accurate in all phases of job, and take decisive action when necessary. Ability to interact cooperatively with ancillary departments.
