Responsibilities

Responsible for receptionist clerical, and data entry tasks in the Operating Room. 

Serves as unit receptionist; greets and assists patients, visitors, physicians and other hospital staff.
Accepts booking and bed reservations.
Schedules Operating Room cases by assigning rooms and times.
Enters Operating Room charges into computer on a daily basis.
Maintains, produces and distributes designated reports and schedules.
Participates in maintaining complete, accurate medical records and current 'patient/unit -policy the information system.
Documents patient booking reservation on appropriate form.
Places calls to physicians’ offices and to other departments as requested.
Maintains effective communication with nurses, other unit staff patients and from other departments, physicians and physician's office staff.

Qualifications

HS Diploma or equivalent required.1 - 2 years experience required Knowledge of Operating Room procedures, medical terminology and familiarity with supplies, costs and implants and booking surgical procedures required..
