Responsibilities

The Pre-Admission Testing Clerical Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the patient’s pre-admission experience. Assures that all patients have scheduled appointments for pre-ops.  Maintains related booking system/process. Assures that all patients have pertinent pre-surgical data. Assures that physician’s offices/clerical staffs have appropriate surgical forms. Coordinates pertinent insurance and related data with the Admitting Department. Coordinates all aspects of pre-op care with the Anesthesia Dept. i.e. chart reviews and necessary related functions and communicates further concern to PCP/Surgeons. Liaison with the ASU professional staff to coordinate pre-op services and assessments. Works closely with the OR Booking Clerk for accuracy and coordination of Patient Care Services. Orientates new PAT clerical staff in the PAT office. Serves as unit receptionist; greets and assists patients, visitors, physicians, and other hospital staff. Keeps the nurses station orderly and maintains an adequate stock of available unit supplies. Maintains a safe environment for patients and staff; promptly refers maintenance/repair requests. Participates in unit-based performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred. Minimum of one year experience in a hospital setting. Excellent communication skills. Experience preferred.
