The Registrar is responsible for registering and admitting patients with efficiency (includes inpatient and outpatient hospital based procedures). Interviews patients and/or representatives to ensure the collection of information is entered into the computer database efficiently. The Registrar collects payment for any non-covered services rendered at time of service. For ER registrations, EMTALA guidelines are followed.
Knowledgeable in medical health insurances. Basic medical terminology and computer knowledge. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills. Minimum 2 years of registration experience within a medical setting (doctor’s office, hospital). High school graduate or equivalency required; college preferred.
